With the thermal imaging capability of the Simulaids^® TI Rescue Randy expands your options for rescue training. Thermal imaging scanners now have the capability to see Randy at a distance of over 20 ft. Special heaters located in the face and hands operate from standard 110V or 220V power outlets and will reach the desired temperature in 15 minutes. After setting the desired temperature on TI Rescue Randy, he will be visible on your scanner for over 45 minutes once he's unplugged.

Simulaids' TI Rescue Randy is ideal for rescue training in buildings or for search and rescue in the field. TI Rescue Randy will stand out from the background thermal image. It has been tested in smoke and steam-filled spaces as in firefighting environments and has demonstrated realistic simulation for rescue and extraction training. In real-world environments, the victim is not likely to be presented with their entire body or torso exposed for easy heat signature definition. Therefore, you should train with the TI Rescue Randy using smaller presentations such as the head and hands.

Actual training with real firefighters has shown the true value of TI Rescue Randy and its ability to deliver the quality presentation needed for effective training. The added reality in life-size presentation presents the same issues during extraction that are encountered with an incapacitated victim. Even without a power supply, this manikin can hold a presentation that is realistic and effective for training with a thermal imager for over 45 minutes.
