The SLA (sealed lead acid) battery pack is a rechargeable battery designed for environments where the LIFEPAK® 500 AED is used frequently. The SLA battery pack must be recharged periodically. The SLA battery pack should be recharged monthly or after each use and should be replaced every two years or after 200 charge cycles.
Please Note: This battery requires LIFEPAK® Rechargeable Battery Charger p/n 3011200-000 (11140-000002), which has been discontinued by the manufacturer. If you do not have a battery charger, it is recommended you purchase the non-rechargeable battery p/n 3208254-000 (11141-000158).
A note about Rechargeable Batteries: Rechargeable batteries are designed for a "high-use" environment, such as Emergency Medical and Rescue Services, and hospitals. They also require a battery charging unit, and multiple batteries (one in use, one charging per AED). If your facility is not likely to use your AED frequently, we recommend the long-life, maintenance-free, non-rechargeable lithium battery.
Physio-Control brand AEDs operate on batteries only. Always have a fully-charged spare available.
