This model contains the lumbar puncture, lumbar epidural, and cervical epidural modules.

The Blue Phantom Spinal Epidural, Lumbar Puncture, and Cervical Epidural Ultrasound Training Model is excellent in its realism, quality, and durability offering you the ability to use ultrasound or utilize blind insertion techniques while performing puncture or epidural procedures to access the epidural or subarachnoid space. Practice or teach a wide variety of procedures including lumbar puncture, lumbar epidural, and cervical epidural procedures

This trainer can be positioned in the upright or lateral decubitus position allowing users to accurately position the model for appropriate training scenarios.  For lumbar puncture and lumbar epidural procedures, the use of external landmarks as the iliac crests can be palpated in the model to initially orient the user to the proper access points.  Further palpation of the spinous processes provides additional landmarks.
 
The trainer's tissue module is superb in its realism and contains the entire lumbar spine, skin tissue, ligamentum flavum, epidural space, dura, subarachnoid membrane, and subarachnoid cistern containing cerebral spinal fluid. The realism optimizes your training while our self-healing tissue saves you money by reducing the need for purchasing replacement parts.

The cervical/upper thoracic spine insert allows users to practice cervical epidural needle and catheter placements and shares the same superior performance and realism as the lumbar spine tissue insert. Clinicians are able to perform epidural procedures and cerebral spinal fluid is present in the model as a way of providing the user immediate feedback as to procedural complications.

Blue Phantom tissue is extremely durable and is self-healing which saves you money by reducing the need to repeatedly purchase replacement parts. All injected fluids, local anesthetics as well as epidural fluid infusions, are automatically expelled and cerebral spinal fluid that is removed is easily refilled using quick refill ports.

This model is superb for utilizing blind insertion techniques for lumbar puncture and spinal epidural procedures or performing ultrasound-guided lumbar puncture, ultrasound-guided lumbar epidural procedures, and ultrasound-guided cervical epidural procedures.  Ultrasound can be used for identification of the optimal insertion points, angle of needle insertion, and determination of the depth to the ligamentum flavum, epidural space, and spinal cistern, which is especially important when performing procedures using the obese spinal tissue insert.
