Meet One of AED Superstore’s Grant Recipients

AED Superstore Grant Winner Announced
AED Superstore Grant Winner: Camp For All

At AED Superstore, we are always looking for ways to help communities place more AEDs where they can do the most good. Each year we award two $2000 grants to those who may not otherwise be able to afford these life-saving devices. The grant is designed to ensure the recipient has the funds to purchase any of the AEDs offered by AED Superstore, along with the supplies and accessories necessary to begin an AED program. We received almost 500 applications for our 2017 mid-year grant award and read them all. Choosing just one proved to be a challenge, and while we wish we could award all of our applicants the grant, we had to choose just one.

We are pleased to announce the winner of that $2000 AED grant is:

Camp for All in Burton, Texas! Camp For All is a unique, barrier free camp working in partnership with other non-profits to enrich the lives of children and adults with challenging illnesses or special needs and their families throughout the year. Camper challenges include cancer, autism, muscular dystrophy, epilepsy, severe burns, sickle cell, cerebral palsy, cognitive challenges, cardiac issues, PKU, NF, HIV, dermatological issues, spinal cord injuries and more. Camp For All was built with absolutely no barriers for children and adults with special needs to experience the thrill of camping and nature, just like their able-bodied peers. We serve over 11,000 campers annually. It is vital that Camp For All maintain a high level of health readiness for our campers.

Camp For All has a health center in their central building which currently has an AED. However, their campus spreads over 206 acres, and they are seeking to make AEDs more accessible away from the central building to ensure AEDs are closer to the site of any emergency.

Congratulations, Camp for All!!
