Spring Into April

April is upon us and spring is in the air. Spring is nature’s way of saying “out with the old, in with the new!” We’ve all participated in spring cleaning. We’ve been sealed in our abodes for the duration of winter and now it’s time to let the old air out and the new air in. Open the doors and windows and take a deep, cleansing breath.

It is also time to open the cabinet door or the carry case of your AED. Is the status indicator showing you are ready for a rescue situation? How are the expiration dates on the electrode pads, including spare and/or pediatric electrode pads? Is your RespondER® KIt handy and complete?

If your AED is located in your place of employment, are there any new employees who should be briefed or trained on the use of the AED? Do you have any existing co-workers who could use a refresher on the operation of the AED or CPR?
