2019 National Heart Month at AED Superstore!

Employees at AED Superstore kick off National Heart Month by Wearing Red for Women’s heart health on February 1, 2019

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women. To prevent heart disease and increase awareness of its effects, AED Superstore is proudly participating in American Heart Month!

To encourage all our employees to think about their lifestyle and eating habits, we are participating in the #OurHearts campaign put forth by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. Following the old adage of “we can do this if we all work together,” AED Superstore will be providing healthy snacks, recipes and lunches for our employees. We are hoping these habits continue well past February 28, as they are truly a means to a healthier and longer life.

One in four people in the US die of heart disease every year, but you can make healthy changes to lower your risk of developing this serious condition. If you already have heart disease, controlling and preventing risk factors is especially important. To lower your risk:

  • Watch your weight.
  • Quit smoking and stay away from secondhand smoke.
  • Control your cholesterol and blood pressure.
  • If you drink alcohol, drink only in moderation.
  • Get active and eat healthy.

We would love to hear how you and your company or family is working together to keep each other healthy as well! Use #OurHearts in the comments, on Twitter, or on our Facebook page!
