Cher Will of Christiansted, St Croix, US Virgin Islands, has done it again. She has donated another AED to a deserving facility in St Croix. Cher Will is the project director of the AED Fund at St Croix Foundation. Cher started the fund back in 2008 after using her own personal AED to save a life, and learning the local fire station did not have one. NY State Governor Andrew M. Cuomo has announced that since New York State Police vehicles were equipped with AEDs beginning in 2007, they have achieved a save success rate of 15% for individuals suffering sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). This is nearly double the national average of 8%. All marked State Police vehicles and state buildings are equipped with AEDs, and troopers receive comprehensive training to use them in emergency situations.
