In 2019, the American Heart Association announced that they will require (as of January 2019) the use of an instrumented directive feedback device (instant feedback) in all courses that teach adult CPR skills. Many pre-existing manikins do not have these devices, but our new CPR manikins and dummies listed below utilize real time feedback devices to help communicate correct compression depth to students and instructors.
In August of 2017, the AHA announced new equipment requirements in order to teach CPR certification courses starting January 31, 2019. In a nutshell, in order to be compliant, an instructor needs to use an instrumented directive feedback device. The AHA defines these devices this way: “An instrumented directive feedback device measures compression rate, depth, hand position, recoil, and chest compression fraction and provides real-time audio or visual feedback (or both) on these critical CPR skills. A feedback device can be integrated into a manikin or serve as an accessory to a manikin.” The following CPR manikins are equipped to satisfy the requirements set forth by the AHA for certification training:
